Description
I have been wanting to evolve my art and my flow into a wilder essence.
After thousands hours spent chiseling visual sculptures, i wanted to taste stylistic freedom: this artwork marks a turning point in my artistic journey.
Synesthesia is a perceptual phenomenon in which stimulation of one sensory or cognitive pathway leads to involuntary experiences in a second sensory or cognitive pathway.
Synesthetes may hear a color, taste a sound or feel a smell, as well as associating colors with numbers or spatial location to a date.
Being colorblind, synesthesia was a gift that helped my bypass the limitations I was born with: while I usually associate shapes with sounds, I process colors through visceral sensations.
I experience artworks as a symphony of deep felt emotions, and this work best represent such process:
while colors in my visual field constantly fluctuate between one and other, synesthesia makes me hyper sensitive to differences in tones and luminosity.
Although not fully aware of the chromatic hues present in my works, I compensate with keen sense of balance and composition, tuned to perceive the slightest subtleties.
The fluidity described in this work, I believe mirrors quite accurately my experience of being an artist.
