Completely Drain You

As a recreation of an acrylic painting I did awhile back, I wanted to take another go at this design. The entire image is made to represent a heart (not atomically accurate of course). I love the concept of having the two profiles connect to form an entire face, with that face being in a shape of a heart. There are multiple meanings associated with this artwork. For example, it can be perceived as a toxic relationship, with red face slowly consuming the blue one. However, I personally associate the meaning as an internal relationship between love and despair. As I see it, love conquers all. The red face is learning to consume the sadness instead of letting the sadness consume it. The pain is powerful, and if dealt with right, it can be somewhat controlled. Most of all, you can use the pain to grow. The tear escaping from the mouth is a reflection of a literal release of sadness. When you're sad, you cry. I promise you those tears can be healing, but do not allow the crying and sadness take total control. Easier said than done, but with time and effort, you will grow stronger.
