Description
I moved my studio from Taos, NM to Santa Fe in 1986. The new dream studio was palatial in comparison to the little space I painted in on Ledoux Street. I didn’t have the furnishings to accommodate the expansion. I found a chair I liked, however, the price gave me pause. After successfully reasoning my way to the purchase, I brought the chair home. Pacing and rubbing my chin, I envisioned the chair's placement. It looks perfect right by the window, I resolved. As I placed the chair, Elvis, the dog of my life, leapt over the bent wood arm with a ball in mouth, landing in what was now, “The Kings Throne.” It didn’t go past me, the most expensive piece of furniture belonged to the dog. Elvis positioned himself just so in the chair with his ball. Then it happened, the ball rolled off the chair. Elvis stared at the ball. I captured the stare with my camera. Contemplating Gravity is a loving moment I had with my dog during an exciting time of personal and professional growth.
