Description
Willow World is part of an on going series in which virtual environments contain willow trees. I have often found respite under many weeping willow trees in my life. I am drawn to their sweeping beauty and the fact that there are 400 different species of willow trees. Willow World also comes into being from the poem Thanatopsis by the Romantic poet William Cullen Bryant. Thanatopsis translates to "consideration of death." The poem helps us to take comfort in death and the natural order of things by looking at and reflecting upon nature itself.
"The oak/Shall send his roots abroad and pierce thy mould."
We are all heading to the same place. But for this moment, take respite in this world.
