Description
This is a hand-drawn graphite drawing of Jayne Mansfield. She was born on April 19th 1933. She tragically died aged only 34 years old, in a car accident, on June 29th 1967. The car crashed at high speed into the rear of a tractor-trailer that had slowed behind a truck spraying mosquito fogger.
Nothing is permanent in life.
As an officially registered Madonnari street artist in Italy, 1984drum has created numerous street βpaintingsβ with coloured chalks. Many of these began early in the morning and took up to twelve hours of constant work on their hands and knees completing the piece. At the end of each day, the piece had to be scrubbed and washed clean. This collection is in part a reminder of that process and how important it is to appreciate the present, and how beauty and life are temporary and transitory.
Once the NFT is purchased on the primary market, a three-month timer begins counting down. This will be displayed on the 1984drum website after purchase on the primary market. During this time period, the owner can choose to swap the digital NFT directly with its creator, 1984drum, in return for the original physical artworks used to create the piece.
When the NFT is returned to its creator, 1984drum, the physical works (two components in this piece) will be sent by special delivery. The physical works have a hidden message written on the back. The owner must send the hidden message to 1984drum within thirty days from the proof of delivery receipt. 1984drum will burn the digital NFT upon receipt of the hidden message. If the time period expires, the NFT may be relisted.
If the NFT is not swapped with the physical works, and within thirty days of its own timer counting down to zero, a video will be made of the artworks being erased off the paper, then burned, with fire, to the point of complete destruction. This video will be posted on the 1984drum Twitter and Instagram accounts to verify the destruction. The destruction video will be minted as a separate NFT.
The original artworks were created freehand with a 2B graphite pencil on A3 Canson 1557 heavy height cartridge paper (180gsm). The artworks were scanned with a high-resolution flatbed scanner and digitally composited.
