Ego Death

This is a digitally inked concept artwork. Each line from this piece was manually drawn and there was no AI involved in its creation. Although this process took several endless hours to complete it was very therapeutic to me and I did not feel the time pass by while I was working on it. I chose to incorporate an abstract background for this piece as a tribute to an old art era of mine during which I spent years working on nothing abstract patterns and shapes. Many of the things I came to learn were thanks to that. In this artwork I paint the image of an ego that is slowly starting to fade into nothingness as it starts to reach a conviction of empathy and compassion. Are we really the protagonists of our life's story or should we accept that we are just one person going through different circumstances? I think we need to put ourselves in other people's shoes and learn to understand more. We often act as if this life is nothing but an adventure, we don't realize that such a statement is sometimes nothing but an excuse for the things we subject other people to. It is nothing but an adventure after all, huh? Ego is such a multidimensional aspect to existence. It controls many of our decisions and reactions to life events. Some of the actions I regret doing in my past were a result of Ego. A lot of the pain I was subjected to was also because of other people's ego. This world needs empathy.
