Soundscapes of Hackney Wick is a digital artpiece part of a long-running conceptual investigation on soundscapes of London. The piece digitally simulates the unseen and unpredictable effects of soundwaves in the unique urban fabric of Hackney Wick. The project asks a brief but powerful question: What if there would be a rare opportunity to be able to see soundwaves? How would they look like? How would our environment shape differently? Sound is a delicate and uncharted phenomenon, hence various computational particle simulation tools and digital visualisation techniques been used during the process of art-making.
