Kate Garner

Mid 1983 and I’ve been shooting non-stop on location and in the studio, since 1977 but this was my first ever studio session with an already famous pop star. Kate Garner and Jeremy Healy had, had a lot of chart success in the UK as Haysi Fantayzee. I was lucky enough to meet someone who knew someone who knew Kate. I asked if it was possible to do a shoot and she agreed. 

This image was one that I shot and was later used as her first solo single ‘Love me Like a Rocket’ released in October of 1983. A full month after Culture Clubs Karma Chameleon was released with my cover shot, a shoot I got directly because of this picture. George knew Kate, he had seen this picture and asked me to do a shoot with him. © Photo David Levine
