Description
How do you tell a ray of light?
I pick it up, select it, fix it like a persistent flash on my retina.
These narratives are a distortion of photographic technique.
I look for the ripples of the water as if they were distorted planes where the sun is reflected in completely unexpected shapes. An nd-filter polarized down to -11 stops. Exposure times in pose b freehand. It is an unequal hunt. The combination of filter, exposure time, reflection quality, morphology of the underlying background translate into a unique language that takes its final form in a video montage where the layers and selections in photoshop create the pretext for a musical dance orchestrated by Railster.
The audio tracks feature field recordings created in the Natisone river (Cividale, Italy) using ‘Cjossul’ microphones by OrganicAudio. The Teenage Engineering OP-1 has been used as the main instrument to add synths sounds to the percussive and ambient landscape. Composed, mixed and mastered by Railster using Ableton Live 11.
