Raquel Welch (1940- ) had an award-winning Hollywood acting career from 1966, in iconic movies like ‘Fantastic Voyage’ and ‘Myra Breckinridge’; however she may be best remembered for ‘One Million Years B.C.’ in which the fur bikini she wore skyrocketed her to international sex symbol status. This piece is inspired by the 2019 Ari Aster horror movie ‘Midsommar’ as well as vintage wallpaper and textile design of the 1960s-1970s which invoked fashionable return-to-nature inspired ‘hippie’ culture post the 1967 ‘Summer of Love.’
