APOLLO Vs DIONYSUS The Apollonian and the Dionysian are philosophical and literary concepts represented by a duality between the figures of Apollo and Dionysus from Greek mythology. This piece looks at this duality in human nature. The Thought Catcher cubes representing the two sides of the self. I have a long held fascination with Greek mythology and how storytelling was used as a way to make sense of not only themselves, but of every day life and the larger world around them. I can’t help think that nothing has changed and we are still dealing with all the same things they were. That there is nothing new under the sun. Love, death, birth, betrayal, abundance, lack, war and every other aspect of our earthly experience. The same then as now. Humans beings dealing with the very same human things. All my NFT works to date have been hand drawn, painted and then animated and this piece was based on an original painting with the same name.
