Time Messenger: Time Heals

In this painting, the lesson is: Time Heals All Wounds. Grief and sorrow will lessen over time. Emotional pain is diminished as time passes. The healing images included in this painting are personal ones. On the top shelf, is my grandmother, who was Native American and a healer. Also, on the top shelf is a Holy Card of the Immaculate Conception. My sister died at the age of nine on that Feast Day. The second shelf has my Great-Great Grandmother, a Holy Card of the Healing Sacred Heart along with an image from my photo series, Stone Crosses & Death Angels. On the bottom shelf, you'll find a Nkisi power figure and a copy of a photo from my "Ghost" series. The phrase may be first attributed to the Greek poet Menander, who lived around 300 B.C. and said, “Time is the healer of all necessary evils.” Geoffrey Chaucer’s poem, Troilus and Criseyde, written in the 1380s contains the phrase: “As tyme hem hurt, a tyme doth hem cure.”
