Description
BLACK HOLE is part of "Labyrinth Collection", a series of tokenized indoor furniture and sculpture pieces with forms derived from mathematical formulas.
The sculpture is composed of hundreds of laser-cut wood pieces, assembled and stacked together manually. The contouring effect caused by the fabrication process creates a gradient reminiscent to the eroded sandstone formations found in deserts such as the Sonoran, Mojave and Wadi Rum.
The work aims to reflect on the aesthetic aspect of the visible regularities found in nature, and mimics the often overlooked beauty of natural phenomena using mathematics, design and digital fabrication.
